You structured the piece nicely, pulling the reader through it without feeling dragged. Also, nice touch with linking out to Variety as a citation.<br />My only critique is that it might have been a little more engaging to make some of your sentences more active. I noticed a lot of "is" and "are" instead of more concrete verb choices.
